Sustainable Living: An Open Home Experience with Mansion Global
On Sunday, October 14, 2018 Luxury Portfolio and Mansion Global co-hosted “Sustainable Living: An Open Home Experience” in a unique beachfront residence in Aptos, California listed by Alain Pinel Realtors. The home hosts several yacht-like details and was featured the “Nautical Homes” article in the latest issue of Luxury Portfolio magazine. The unique beachfront residence inspired the program for the event which included a conversation about sustainability and a taste of coastal cuisine from Aubergine at L'Auberge Carmel.
With boat-like elements, including a hand forged steel staircase and a balcony designed to resemble a ship’s prow, it is nearly impossible to look at this beautiful contemporary residence without thinking of the ocean. The customized space takes entertaining to a new level with a built-in outdoor barbeque area on the first floor and state-of-the-art appliances and pendant lights in the kitchen on the second level. The home stays true to its nautical theme with anchor clad décor, porthole decals and a media room with a relief sculpture of dolphins frolicking.
Luxury Portfolio president Stephanie Anton opened the evenings festivities with a short statement about the unique construction and inspiration behind the home’s yacht-like details.
The home’s unique aesthetic and proximity to the Pacific Ocean provided the perfect backdrop for an inspiring conversation around sustainability. Editor-in chief of Mansion Global, Mae Cheng sat down with Chief Conservation Officer at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Margaret Spring and executive chef of Aubergine at L'Auberge Carmel, Justin Cogley to discuss ocean conservation and how we can incorporate sustainable practices into our everyday lives.
The evening featured a compelling conversation which included eco-friendly foods in a stunning oceanfront atmosphere.
